Brighton Man Arrested on Child Porn Charges

GARDEN CITY, MI – An investigation conducted by the Michigan State Police (MSP) Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force has resulted in the arrest of a man from Brighton. Todd Burton, 65-years-old, turned himself in at 21st District Court in Garden City.

The investigation stemmed from a National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) Cyber Tip. Further investigation led to locating a residence, business and suspect between Brighton and Garden City. A search of both the home and business netted multiple devices and evidence.

Burton has been charged with three counts of child sexually abusive activity, three counts of possession of child sexually abusive activity and six counts of using a computer to commit a crime. Burton was arraigned on all counts on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

If convicted, Burton faces up to twenty years in prison for each count of child sexually abusive activity, four years in prison for each count of possession of child sexually abusive material and seven years in prison for each count of using of a computer to commit a crime
