Oakland County Man convicted of Rape Arrested for Possession and Distribution of Child Porn

OXFORD TOWNSHIP, MI – The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit (CCU), Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Michigan Attorney General’s Office, is announcing the arrest of Scott Edward Lutze, 33-years-old, of Oxford Township, for the possession, production and distribution of child sexually abusive material.

The investigation was initiated when police learned that Scott Lutze was downloading child sexually abusive material from the internet.

Additional assistance in this investigation was provided by troopers from both the MSP Metro North and Lapeer posts, as well as the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department.

Following a forensic examination of digital evidence seized from his residence, Lutze was charged with five counts of possessing child sexually abusive material, two counts of distributing child sexually abusive material, two counts of production of child sexually abusive material and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

Lutze is on a lifetime Sex Offender Registry and will be charged as a habitual offender. He was arraigned in 52-3 District Court, in Oakland County, on Feb. 14.

In July of 2011 Scott Lutze was previously convicted on 2 counts of rape and 1 count of Pornography Involving a Minor in California.
