The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating an unknown suspect wanted in connection with a carjacking incident that occurred on the city’s east side.
On February 22, 2018 at approximately 3:20 a.m., in the 15100 block of Gratiot Avenue, a 33-year old woman, Ashley Petty, was carjacked at a Marathon Gas Station. Petty pulled up to a gas pump in her 2010 GMC Acadia, then went inside to get a cup of coffee.
She was on her way to work at a local nursing home. She is the mother to six children.
While inside, an unknown driver of a red sedan pulled up to a pump, directly across from her vehicle. Upon the victim returning to her vehicle, the rear passenger exited the sedan, approached the victim and demanded her keys at gunpoint.
