ROCHESTER HILLS, MI – After being given 7 doses of Narcan, a 35-year-old Rochester Hills man is fortunate to be alive today after family members then Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies and paramedics managed to save his life after he overdosed on heroin.
At approximately 9:20 pm on Friday February 23rd, 2018, Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies and the City of Rochester Hills Fire Department responded to the 20 block of Village Circle on a possible heroin overdose.
Family members called 9-1-1 after finding the victim lying on the bathroom floor, unconscious and not breathing.
Prior to the Deputies arrival, family members administered three 3 doses of Narcan (Naloxone) to the victim and began administering CPR. Deputies entered the residence and found the victim unresponsive with shallow breathing. The Deputies then relieved the family members from their life saving efforts and continued administering CPR. Deputies administered an additional 4 doses of Narcan to the victim before he regained consciousness.
According to family members at the scene, the victim has a history of drug abuse.
Paramedics from the Rochester Hills Fire Department arrived on the scene, stabilized the victim and transported him to Troy Beaumont Hospital for further medical treatment.
The victim’s condition is not known at this time.
The incident remains under investigation.
