SHELBY TOWNSHIP, MI – A body has been recovered from a pond in Shelby Township after authorities were called to the area on Sunday March 4th, 2018.
The pond is located at 24 Mile and Hayes behind Huntington Bank and CVS Pharmacy.
Shelby Township Police and Fire responded with a boat. The body was covered by a white tarp on the shoreline.
It is not known if this death was an accident, suicide or murder.
The Macomb County Coroner left the scene at about 7:15pm when they took custody of the body.
It was only last week that the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office investigated an apparent suicide that took place at an overpass in Macomb Township.
Deputies were called to Romeo Plank Road between 25 Mile and 26 Mile roads at about 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday February 28th, 2018, to respond to a report of a body found hanging from the overpass.
The body of an 18-year-old man, who apparently died by suicide, was found beneath the overpass on Romeo Plank Road.
