BRANDON TOWNSHIP, MI – On Monday March 5th, 2018, the Brandon Fire Departments and the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office initially responded to a man stuck in a shallow trench.

Upon arrival, the fire department found a 65 year-old victim trapped in a clay muck consistency up to his waist, unable to self-extricate. Upon further investigation it was determined that assistance was needed from the North Oakland County Technical Rescue Team, for manpower and specialized technical rescue equipment.

A Vactor Vacuum truck was used to remove the muck from around the victim, allowing him to be extricated from the shallow trench. At 3:06pm he was removed and transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.

At the time of this press release the victim was reunited with family and being held for observation.
