Man suspected of Impersonating utility worker in Ypsilanti Township

YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, MI – On Wednesday March 7th, 2018, at approximately 8:05pm, Deputies responded to the 5900 Block of Willowbridge Rd for a Suspicious Incident.alert

Contact was made with the home owner who stated between 5:30-6pm an unknown black male subject, approximately 30 years old, 5’8”-6’ approximately 200 pounds, wearing a white utility company shirt and blue pants came to her residence stating he needed to repair her cable box and insisted on coming inside the residence to check the resident’s indoor cable set-up.

The suspect left after being repeatedly denied entry by the homeowner in a white full-size van in an unknown direction. The van had utility company signs on the sides of the van which appeared to be magnetized decals. Beware of individuals impersonating utility company employees.

The case is under investigation at this time.
