DETROIT, MI – There is a traffic alert that drivers need to be aware of on I-75 just north of 9 Mile Rd.

On Sunday March 11th, 2018, traffic on the freeway is being diverted due to a police action taking place.  I-75 is closed in both directions at Eight Mile for a person attempting to harm themselves.

MSP Troopers are starting to clear out the back up on I-75 in both directions to get those trapped in the closure on their way. If you picked up your phone to see what’s going on, put it back down before you start to drive. Please be patient. They will get you moving again.

If you need help or know someone who does please call the National Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273-8255. They can help you with better solutions.

Please avoid both I-75 and Eight Mile.
