Ottawa County Jail Inmate Dies after being found Unresponsive

WEST OLIVE, MI – An Ottawa County Jail inmate, who was found unresponsive in the jail, has died.

William VanEyck, 33-years-old, of Holland, was lodged in the Ottawa County Jail awaiting sentencing in the Ottawa County Circuit Court. It is not clear what crimes he was awaiting sentencing for.

On March 3rd, 2018, he was found unresponsive in the jail facility, and was transported by ambulance to Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids.

On March 12th, William VanEyck died at Spectrum Hospital.

The Ottawa County Sheriff states that the matter will be fully investigated.

Obituary

William Van Eyck, 33, of Holland died Monday, March 12, 2018.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Friday at the Dykstra Funeral Home-Mulder Chapel.
Burial is in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 7-9 pm Thursday at the chapel.
