BRANDON TOWNSHIP, MI – A husband is grieving the loss of his wife after she was found to have fallen to her death while he slept.
On Saturday, March 17th, 2018, just shortly before 10:00PM, Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Brandon Township Fire Department responded to the 1000 block of Beth Lane for an unresponsive woman who had fallen down a stairway which led to the basement of the home. The incident was first reported by the victim’s husband who had discovered his 52-year-old wife unresponsive at the bottom of the stairs and called 9-1-1 for assistance.
Upon arrival, Deputies located the woman who was obviously dead at the bottom of the stairs. Paramedics provided telemetry to McLaren-Oakland Hospital where a physician pronounced her deceased. The victim’s husband stated that he and his wife had been drinking at a local bar during the afternoon hours. He fell asleep around 8:30 PM and when he woke up he could not find his wife inside their home. He then located her lying at the bottom of the basement stairs.
A detective from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene to continue the investigation. The OCSO Forensic Science Laboratory responded to process the scene. An Investigator from the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office also responded to the scene.
