PORT HURON, MI – Port Huron Police have made an arrest in a threat made to Port Huron Northern High School.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested on the charge of making a false report of a felony.
Police presence was increased in the school with uniformed officers because of the original threat and another that followed towards Port Huron High School.
Student informed the school resource officer at Northern about an alleged threat to shoot up the school. The threat allegedly was posted on social media by an unknown source.
Port Huron Police and Port Huron Schools officials began an investigation of the alleged threat.
The 15-year-old Fort Gratiot resident, who is a freshman at Northern, was arrested Thursday after admitting there was no threat and that he had made up the information.
The second threat is still being investigated
