PONTIAC, MI – An 8-year-old child was investigated for a possible threat against a Pontiac School on Tuesday March 27th, 2018.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies were advised by Pontiac School District Security of a threatening note that was found in the possession of a student at the International Technology Academy WHRC school building located in the 10 block of Parkhurst St.
Upon arrival, the school liaison officer located the student and took him into custody. Written in the letter was a threat to kill a teacher and a classmate. The student was transported to the Substation and was interviewed in the presence of his mother. He stated that he was upset at his classmate for telling the teacher he had a cellphone. He was then upset at the teacher for taking the cellphone away.
The on-duty Referee at Oakland County Children’s Village was contacted and declined to lodge him due to his age. The student was released into the custody of his mother.
The investigation was forwarded to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office for review. The investigation is pending the issuance of Criminal Charges.
