Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Macomb Township

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MI – A man walking in the roadway was struck and killed early Thursday morning in Macomb Township.Car Pedestrian Accident

On Thursday March 29th, 2018, at approximately 3:00am, Macomb County Sheriff deputies were called to the area of 23 Mile Rd. and North Ave. to check for a man walking in the roadway. While attempting to locate him, deputies were made aware that a truck had just struck a pedestrian.

The 2015 black Ford pick-up truck was traveling northbound on North Ave. when it struck the pedestrian south of 23 Mile Rd. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim is being identified as Antony Levon Cook, 28-years-old, of Macomb Township.

The driver, a 35 year old male out of Macomb Township, was released pending further investigation. It does not appear that drugs or alcohol played a factor in this crash at this time.

The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate this crash and is working to identify this deceased adult male. We will put out further as soon as we are able. The roadway is open at this time.
