DETROIT, MI – Jerome S. Adams, 36-years-old, of Detroit, has been charged in connection with stealing a Detroit Police fully marked scout car.
On Sunday April 1st, 2018, it is alleged that Adams dropped his bicycle ran across Woodward near Sproat Street and attempted to enter a running DPD vehicle. It is alleged that Adams assaulted an officer near the car, and drove the car away. The defendant drove approximately two blocks away at a high rate of speed eventually crashing into a hydraulic barricade near Little Caesar’s Arena. Adams was placed under arrest at the scene.
Jerome Adams has been charged with: Carjacking, Unarmed Robbery, Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile, Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property-Motor Vehicle, Malicious Destruction Police Property and Resisting and Obstructing. He is expected to be arraigned today in 36th District Court at 2: 30 p.m.
