WARREN TOWNSHIP – The Midland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two vehicle, fatal traffic crash that claimed the life of a 56 year old Coleman woman. The incident took place on West Saginaw Road west of North Alamando Road in Warren Township at approximately 7:06PM on Tuesday April 3rd, 2018.
The initial investigation indicates that Kathleen Pomranky, 56-years-old, of Coleman, was driving her maroon 2006 Pontiac Torrent and was heading eastbound on West Saginaw Road. She lost control of her vehicle on the icy roads and crossed the centerline into the path of a westbound red 2017 Ford F-350 pick-up. The Ford was driven by Nathan Harsh, 42-years-old, also from Coleman.
Kathleen Pomranky was transported by EMS to Mid Michigan Medical Center in Midland where she was later pronounced deceased.
Nathan Harsh and his two passengers were not injured in the crash.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash and air bags deployed in both vehicles.
While there is no evidence to indicate that alcohol or drugs may have been a factor in this crash, authorities are waiting for toxicology reports for a final determination. This report will be forwarded to the Midland County Prosecutor’s Office for review once it has been completed.
The Midland County Sheriff’s Office were assisted at the scene by Coleman Fire Rescue and Mid Michigan EMS.
