FLYNN TOWNSHIP, MI – Two people were injured in a rollover crash when they were ejected from their vehicle in Sanilac County this afternoon.
On Thursday April 12th, 2018, at approximately 3:55 P.M., Sanilac Central Dispatch received a call regarding a rollover accident where the occupants of the vehicle had been ejected near the intersection of Aitken and Shephard Roads in Flynn Township.
According to Sgt. Armstrong, the investigation determined that a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac was traveling east on Aitken Road west of Shephard Road. The vehicle was being driven by a 24-year-old man from Snover and also occupied by a 22yearold female from Peck. The driver of the vehicle lost control just west of the above intersection. The vehicle left the roadway on the south side of the road and flipped one time before landing in the ditch on the east side of Shephard Road.
The male subject was transported to Marlette Hospital by Marlette EMS and later by helicopter to Saginaw Covenant Cooper. The female was transported to Marlette Hospital by Marlette EMS and later transported by ambulance to Flint Hurley. Both subjects were not wearing seatbelts and subsequently were ejected as a result of the accident. Airbags did not deploy and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
Conditions of both victims is currently unknown.
The accident remains under investigation.
