DETROIT, MI – Residents on the west side of Detroit who frequent Rouge Park need to be cautious due to recent criminal violence in the park.
A 48 year of man was shot at approximately 1:00AM on Friday April 20th, 2018. He was found shot on Spinoza Drive. Police believe he walked to that area from West Outer Drive and Lasher.
The victim is in critical condition at a local hospital.
Initially Detroit Police believed he has suffered a gunshot wound to the upper right leg. It was later discovered he had a gunshot wound to the chest as well.
It was only last weekend that the body of Terrance Hayes was found in Rouge Park after it was assumed that he had been in a car accident in Redford Township on westbound I-96 at Telegraph Road. Terrance had went missing on Sunday February 18th, 2018. Authorities had been searching for him but he remained missing until his body was discovered on April 13th, 2018 in a canal.
Though the official cause of death has not yet been released by the medical examiner, it is believed that Terrance Hayes was shot and killed in Rouge Park.
