PONTIAC, MI – A Pontiac man was arrested when he fired a weapon after being hit in the head with a metal grate from a stove by a female friend who was also arrested on Saturday April 21st, 2018.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 500 block of Bloomfield Avenue on the report of a family trouble. Upon their arrival, Deputies could hear loud yelling coming from inside the residence. The first Deputy to arrive at the scene entered the residence and observed a woman strike a man in the head with a metal grate from the top of the stove. Both subjects fell to the floor while the man had a gun in his hand. The firearm discharged into an interior wall. The Deputy ordered the subject to drop the weapon and he complied.
Both subjects were placed in handcuffs while additional Deputies were en route. Deputies interviewed both subjects. The female indicated to Deputies that she and the male subject are acquaintances and the two had been arguing. She admitted to striking the male in the head with a metal grate used to cover a burner on the stove after he had pulled out a gun. The male subject stated that after he was struck by a wine glass, he pulled out the gun to get the female to leave the residence. The woman then struck him with the stove grate.
No one was injured as a result of the gunshot, but both parties received injuries from the struggle that occurred inside the residence. Both parties were taken into custody and transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. Each subject was treated and released from the hospital and subsequently lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending the possible issuance of criminal charges.
