DETROIT, MI – Detroit Police have arrested a 28-year-old man after he allegedly shot another man at a gas station on the city’s west side.

On Thursday, April 26th, 2018, at approximately 12:25 a.m., a 42 year old man was observed by officers yelling and walking in the street in the area of Santa Clara and Burgess. Scouts from the 8th precinct investigated where they found that the victim stated he was shot at the gas station located at McNichols and Lahser. Upon further investigation the victim was observed with a graze wound to his left hip.

The Scouts contacted the Detroit Police Department’s Crime Intel Unit and since the gas station was a Project Greenlight Location, Crime Intel was able to retrieve surveillance video and give a description of the vehicle and suspect involved.

Shortly after, scouts observed a vehicle matching the description, red Dodge Caliber, with tinted windows and temp sticker in the rear window, in the area of Schaefer and Outer Dr. Officers conducted a traffic stop, arrested the 28 year old male suspect without incident and conveyed him to the D.D.C. for processing.
