SUMMERFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI – A 21-year-old Ohio man was killed in a vehicle crash near the intersection of Summerfield Road at the exit ramp from US23 northbound on Friday, April 27th, 2018 at approximately 7:45AM.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Logan Goodrich, 30-years-old, of Vernal, UT was driving a white 2015 Ford F-250 northbound on the US-23 exit ramp to Summerfield Road. After Mr. Goodrich came to the intersection of Summerfield Road at the end of the exit ramp, Mr. Goodrich was attempting to make a left hand turn to travel westbound on Summerfield Road.
While in the process of attempting to make that turn. Mr. Goodrich was struck my Dillon J. Montie, 21-years-old, of Oregon, OH. Dillon Montie was driving a black 2010 Honda Civic eastbound on Summerfield Road.
Dillon Montie was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
At the time of the accident, both Goodrich and Montie were wearing their seatbelts. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
Monroe Community Ambulance and the Summerfield Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by Deputy Sheriff Brian Quinn of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Services Bureau along with Deputy Sheriffs David Moore and Patrick Davison of the Uniform Services Division.
