OXFORD TOWNSHIP, MI – A 55-year-old man is in critical condition in the hospital after he and his bicycle slammed into the back of a parked vehicle on Monday April 30th, 2018.
The Crash Reconstruction Unit is assisting Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies from the Oxford Township Substation with the investigation of a bicycle injury crash that occurred on Deer Path Trail near Dakota Court.
At approximately 5:00PM, the 55-year-old man, from Lake Orion, was riding his bicycle eastbound on Deer Path Trail when he struck the back end of an unoccupied 2013 Ford Escape that was legally parked on the street.
The rider of the bicycle was transported to St. Joseph Mercy Oakland by the Oxford Township Fire Department and is currently listed in critical condition. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this crash. The bicyclist was wearing a helmet. The crash remains under investigation.
