Violent Armed Robbers get away with Cash from Rochester Hills Burger King

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI – Two violent armed robbery suspects forced one victim into a walk-in refrigerator and assaulted another by hitting them in the head with a handgun at a Burger King restaurant in Rochester Hills on Sunday April 29th, 2018.armed robbery

Shortly after midnight, Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Burger King restaurant located at 2593 Crooks Rd, on the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred. Deputies were informed that there were two suspects armed with handguns that had fled on foot through the rear exit.

Upon arrival, Deputies were able to locate the first victim. The employee, a 22-year-old man, of Pontiac, stated that he had stepped out of the restaurant to smoke a cigarette when he was ambushed by two suspects. The victim noticed that both suspects were armed with semi-automatic handguns. The victim was forced to go back inside the restaurant with a handgun pointed to the back his head. As the victim was forced to walk back into the restaurant he was assaulted by one of the suspects who struck him in the back of the head with his handgun. The victim was ordered to lie face down on the food preparation table, while the other suspect began looking for the other employees.

Deputies located a second victim, a 51-year-old woman, from Hazel Park, who is also employed by at the restaurant, who indicated that she was in the walk-in refrigerator when the robbery first occurred. She stated that she was ordered out of the refrigerator at gunpoint and directed to the manager’s office where the safe is kept. She opened the safe and placed all of the cash, approximately $1,500, from inside the safe into a gray bank bag. Once the suspects were able to get the cash from the safe, they fled the on foot eastbound from the store.

A K-9 Deputy was on scene and attempted to establish a track. The K-9 was able to track a short distance, but the scent was lost in the area of Commerce Drive and Concord Drive. An evidence technician was requested to process the scene. Deputies are unable to access any surveillance video as the system was down for repair and there is no recording. Paramedics responded to the scene to treat the first victim for his injury, but he declined medical attention. OCSO Detectives were notified of the incident. Detectives will be continuing with the investigation.

The suspects are described as:

SUSPECT INFORMATION (#1): A black male, approximately 20 years of age, wearing a ski mask that covered his head. The suspect was also wearing a black hooded jacket with gray sweatpants. The suspect was wearing blue shorts underneath his sweat pants.

SUSPECT INFORMATION (#2): the second suspect was approximately 6 feet in height wearing all black clothing.
