Several Communities see Rise in Theft of Catalytic Converters

DEARBORN, MI – Over the past week, the City of Dearborn has seen an increase in the theft of catalytic converters taken from motor vehicles.Police Marz Lights

On Wednesday April 30th, 2018, Dearborn officers pursued a late model Kia Optima, burgundy in color, occupied by 3 black males following another larceny. This pursuit was subsequently terminated due to the danger it posed to the public. Several neighboring communities have also been targeted by these same suspects utilizing the same Kia.

Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad stated, “These crimes have an adverse impact on the quality of life of our residents and will not be tolerated. We will work closely with our regional partners to apprehend these suspects.”
