DETROIT, MI – Rami Ali Jaber, 26-years-old, of Dearborn Heights, has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred at a gas station on West McNichols in Detroit.
On Sunday May 13th, 2018 at approximately 3:54 p.m., Detroit police were dispatched to a Citgo gas station located in the 17800 block of West McNichols in Detroit. Upon arrival, the officers observed medics on the scene, who transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
It is alleged that the victim approached the counter to make a purchase and a disturbance occurred between the victim and the defendant. It is further alleged the defendant fired a handgun, fatally striking the victim. The defendant was arrested at the scene. The facts and evidence in the case will be presented in court at the preliminary examination.
Jaber has been charged with First Degree Murder and Felony Firearm*. He is expected to be arraigned on the warrant tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m. in 36th District Court.
