3 Arrested in Ionia County for Sales of Methamphetamine

IONIA, MI – On Thursday May 17th, 2018, the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office, Central Michigan Enforcement Team (CMET), and Michigan State Police during a collaborative drug investigation arrested three individuals at a gas station in the 7000 block of S. State Road (M-66) just north of I-96. The arrests were for sales and distribution of crystallized methamphetamine.

During the investigation and arrest of the suspects, Ionia County Sheriff’s and CMET narcotics detectives seized nearly a half-pound of crystalized methamphetamine, with a street value of nearly $20,000.

The following subjects were arrested, and all were arraigned by the 64A District Court in Ionia on 5/18/18:

Nathan Elferink, 32-years-old, of Kalamazoo, was charged with Delivery of Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine. Elferink is being held on a $50,000 bond.

Brian Allan Jones, 36-years-old, of Kalamazoo, was charged with Deliver of Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, violation of his parole, as well as driving on a suspended license. Jones is being held on a $50,000 bond.

Based on records from the Michigan Department of Corrections, Brian Jones was previously convicted for:

  • Police Officer – Fleeing – Second Degree
  • Police Officer – Fleeing – Third Degree
  • Breaking & Entering a Building With Intent
  • Police Officer – Fleeing – Third Degree
  • Controlled Substance-Delivery/Manufacture Marijuana

Arieus Taylor, 34-years-old, of Kalamazoo, was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine. Taylor is being held on a $50,000 bond.
