DETROIT, MI – An unknown robbery suspect killed Mike Webb the owner of the El Capri Lounge on the east side of Detroit on Saturday. The murder occurred at about 4:30AM.Manager Mike Webb

The bar located at 1673 E Grand Blvd became a crime scene on May 26th, 2018. A robber who broke into the building and killed Mike who, by all accounts, was a very nice and decent man.

Surveillance video shows Webb walking into the bar around 4:30AM Saturday morning. He had gone to the building because an alarm had gone off. The video also shows a man breaking in, prying his way through a brick wall that allowed access to a crawl space.

Once Mike was inside of the building he was faced with the would be murder suspect. A confrontation broke out between the two and that is when Mike Webb was killed. The video shows the robber running out the front door where he left Webb to die of head injuries.

Many reacted in horror and disbelief that such a nice person would be senselessly murdered like he was.

Mike Webb was a resident of Detroit and it appears that he celebrated his birthday just 4 days ago on May 24th. He had posted to Facebook thanking those who wished him well.
