Engaged Couple Shot and Killed on Patton Street on Detroit’s West side

DETROIT, MI – It all started at about 12:30AM with a knock at the front door of a home on Patton Street that ended up having an engaged couple shot to death early Wednesday morning.

The crime scene is in the 10000 block of Patton near Elmira.  That is in the area of Plymouth and Evergreen on the west side of the city.

A 48-year-old man, Erik Couch, was shot to death in the front yard of the home after he ran outside and his wife 45-year-old Tamika Garner was found shot in the head inside of the house in the family room on May 30th, 2018.

There were children inside of the home at the time of the shooting. 2 daughters were inside of the house while a son was outside.  They were not harmed.

Detroit Police are looking for two suspects who were wearing masks.  It is believed that they fled the scene in a white Dodge SUV.

It is unknown at this time why the two were targeted.
