Detroit Police want to locate West side Murder Suspect

DETROIT, MI – The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection of a homicide that occurred on the city’s west side. Lenell James Kirby

On Sunday, June 3rd, 2018, at 3:14 a.m. two women were shot by Lenell James Kirby in the 18000 block of Grandville. The double shooting took place north of West McNichols and east of Evergreen.

A 28-year-old woman, Tyiela Autrey, was fatally wounded. She had been Kirby’s girlfriend. The second victim, Kiara, 22-years-old, the niece of Autrey, was treated for a non-fatal injury.

Lenell Kirby is to be considered armed and dangerous.

Height: 5′ 8″
Weight: 190 lbs.
Age: 28-years-old
Based on records from the Michigan Department of Corrections, Lenell Kirby is on probation.  He was previously convicted for:
  • DUI – Operating With a High BAC
  • Controlled Substance-Possess Narcotic/Cocaine < 25 Grams
