Man Shot outside of Cabana Motel Identified

DETROIT, MI – An early morning argument on Sunday June 10th, 2018 outside of a motel on Detroit’s east side led to one man being shot and killed.Antonio Smith

The Cabana Motel is located at 12291 Harper Ave, between Dickerson Avenue and Conner Street.

The incident began at approximately 5:40 a.m. Two men, Antonio Smith and a security guard who was staying at the motel, were arguing outside of the business about cigarette smoking. That argument led to 43-year-old Antonio Smith being shot and killed.

Smith was shot in the back. His brother rushed him to the hospital but Antonio died as a result of his injuries.

Detroit Police are looking for two suspects. The first suspect is a black man 5’11, 19-21 years old, thin build with medium brown complexion skin, he has short black hair and is wearing a blue Detroit Tigers sweatshirt, black jeans, and black shoes. 

The second suspect is black man 5’9 thin build, dark complexion also 19-21 years old.
