DETROIT, MI – Two Detroit Police officers were involved in a hit and run accident when the SUV scout vehicle they were in was hit by another vehicle on the city’s east side late Tuesday evening
On June 12th, 2018, the officers had just left the 11th precinct and were eastbound on Nevada near Mound, when it was hit by the suspect’s vehicle.
EMS workers had to use the jaws of life to cut the vehicle open to get the female officer out who was trapped inside. She suffered a broken arm and her male partner was taken to the hospital to be examined but was not injured.
After the accident the suspect fled the scene on foot. Michigan State Police were on scene assisting to locate the subject. He still remains on the run.
