Burton Couple Charged with Strangling Flint Woman to Death at Local Motel

FLINT- MI – A Burton couple have been charged with murder related to the strangulation death of a Flint woman a week ago at a motel on Pierson Rd. in Mt. Morris Township.murder

Aaron Richard Thornton, 36-years-old, and Jennifer Leanne Harrington, 33-years-old, are in custody at the Genesee County jail related to the death of 28-year-old Jessica Flood of Flint. According to police investigative reports, the homicide occurred on June 20th at the Great Western Inn on Pierson Rd. just west of I-75 in Mt. Morris Township. Flood’s body was not discovered until Monday, June 25th, hidden under a bed in a room at the motel.

Both Thornton and Harrington are charged with first degree premeditated homicide and one count of Unlawful Imprisonment.

Thornton was arraigned on the charges Tuesday evening while Harrington is expected to be arraigned in 67th District Court today. A probable cause conference and preliminary examinations are scheduled for July 12th and 17th, respectively.
