TROY, MI – Two women from Pontiac were arrested after their shopping trip to Neiman Marcus in Troy did not go as planned this time.
On June 28th, 2018, at approximately 1:18PM, Loss Prevention Officers with Neiman Marcus report that they observed the two suspects enter the business. The pair were recognized as having committed prior thefts of merchandise from the retailer.
The suspects had exited a black 2007 Ford Fusion that was parked on the third level of the parking structure. The two women were observed working together in an attempt to steal $1,020 worth of store merchandise before being stopped by Loss Prevention Officers as they were exiting the store.
Both suspects provided false information to the responding officers as to their names. The officers were able to determine the suspects to be a 20 year old woman and a 19 year old woman, both from Pontiac.
Both suspects were arrested and charged with Retail Fraud – 1st Degree and Hinder and Obstruction of a Police Officer.
It was determined that the 19 year old female had driven the Ford Fusion to the parking space and her State of Michigan Operator’s License was ‘Suspended’ by the Michigan Secretary of State. She also received a charge of Driving While License Suspended. The officers also located merchandise inside the vehicle that appeared to have been previously stolen from the business as price tags and anti-theft security sensors were still attached to the clothing.
