UPDATE: Perry Rouse Jr. who was wanted in the block party murder case in Mount Clemens has been arrested.
MOUNT CLEMENS, MI – A suspect has been identified in the block party murder case of Charlie McGowan and the shooting of a woman on Thursday July 5th, 2018, at approximately 12:20am.
A large crowd of people were gathered in the area of Court and Clemens Streets in Mt. Clemens and deputies learned that two persons with gunshot wounds had been transported to the hospital.
The first victim was identified as Charlie McGowan, a 24 year old man out of Clinton Township. McGowan was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
The second victim is a 26 year old woman out of Clinton Township. She is being treated for her injuries.
The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office has identified Perry Bernard Rouse Jr, a black man, 25-years-old, as the suspect in the homicide investigation.
The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has issued a five count warrant for Perry Rouse:
1. Homicide – Murder First Degree – Premeditated (life felony)
2. Weapons – Felony Firearm (2 year felony)
3. Weapons – Firearms – Possession by Felon (5 year felony)
4. Weapons – Felony Firearm (2 year felony)
5. Assault With Intent to Murder (life felony)
Rouse should be considered armed and dangerous.
He is believed to be in possession of an assault style rifle and getting assistance from someone known to him.
Rouse is a 5’6”, approximately 150 lbs, with brown eyes and brown hair.
