Detroit Police want to Identify and Speak to 5 People about Two East Side Incidents

DETROIT,  MI – The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating five Persons of Interest who may have information pertaining to two shots fired incidents that occurred on the city’s east side.

On Saturday July 7th, 2018, at approximately 9:55 p.m., officers from the Ninth Precinct responded to a police run regarding Shot’s Fired in Progress in the 11100 block of Chalmers. Upon arrival, the officers met with a 46-year old man who stated that an unknown person driving a black Chevy Impala fired shots at him. He stated prior to the shooting, he got into a confrontation with a known person and several unknown men at a gas station in the 11700 block of Chalmers.

He stated that one of the men was armed and driving a black Chevy Impala. After the confrontation, the complainant left and went to a local business in the 11100 block of Chalmers. While at the business, the complainant observed a black Chevy Impala driving by and someone inside firing shots in his direction. The complaint was outside at the time of this shooting.

There were also two additional people (witnesses- male 32 & female 22) present, no injuries reported. While the officers were taking the report from the complainant and both witnesses, an unknown man fired several shots in their direction from a vacant field. No one was injured. The officers did not return fire. A K-9 unit responded but suspect(s) were not located.

Detroit Police is investigating both incidents.
