DETROIT, MI – Detroit Police are continuing to look for a suspect who fired gunshots toward officers early Sunday morning, July 15th, 2018.

At approximately 1:00AM, Officers had responded to a felony assault call in the 7000 block of Dacosta. Officers knocked on the door of the location several times. When they did not have someone respond to them, they called for further scout cars so that entry could be made to the house. Shortly after that they heard shots fired at them. Then they saw the suspect running southbound on Dolphin St between houses.

The suspect evaded them. Police setup a perimeter around the area. A decision was made to search near and in parts of Rouge Park but the suspect has not yet been located.

He is described as a black man, 5-feet, 10-inches to 6-feet, 1-inches tall. He’s described as wearing a white shirt, blue jeans shorts and armed with a semi-automatic gun.
