Dasiah Nichelle Jordan, 26-years-old and Tonya Desirae Peterson, 28-years-old, both of Detroit, have been charged in connection with the death of Ca’Mya Davis, the 11-month-old infant daughter of Dasiah Jordan.

On Friday July 6th, 2018, at approximately 11:30 p.m., EMTs responded to a 911 call in the 15000 block of Ferguson Street in Detroit regarding a child not breathing. Upon arrival, medics began CPR on the infant and transported her to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Earlier that Friday, it is alleged that Dasiah Jordan left her infant daughter Ca’Myain the care of Tonya Peterson in an unsafe home and went out to visit friends.

Ca’Mya was left to roam the house unattended, fell through the hole in a bedroom floor, and drown in standing water and sewage in the basement. Tonya Peterson and Dasiah Jordan were both aware of the hazardous and unsafe condition in the bedroom.

Jordan and Peterson have both been charged with Manslaughter, and Child Abuse – Second Degree.

The Detroit Police Department has informed WCPO that they are expected to be arraigned on Tuesday, July 17th, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in 36th District Court.
