LANSING, MI – A 20-year-old Olivet woman is being accused of child abuse in the first degree after family members became concerned about her two month old son.
On July 3rd, 2018, Detectives from the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office responded along with investigators from Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to Sparrow Hospital concerning possible child on a two month of baby.
A two month old boy had been brought in to the hospital by family members. After multiple tests performed at Sparrow Hospital, it was determined the baby had multiple brain bleeds and a possible skull fracture. Medical staff at Sparrow Hospital believed the injuries on the baby were the results of two separate assaults.
During the course of the investigation, Detectives were able to locate evidence and information which led to a two count felony warrant issued on July 20th, 2018, for child abuse in the first degree.
The baby’s mother and suspect, Taylor Prahl-Six of Olivet, was arrested and lodged at the Eaton County Jail shortly after the arrest warrants were issued.
