Robert Stanzler, 50-years-old, of Ferndale, has been charged in connection with the assault on Ibrahim Faison, 29-years-old, of Detroit, who was working as a security guard at a business event in Eastern Market.

On July 17th, 2018 at approximately 9:36 a.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched for a disturbance at a location in the 3400 block of Russell Street in Eastern Market. Upon arrival, the officers spoke with the victim. It is alleged that the defendant was upset about parking by others on his property when he made an obscene gesture and spat in Faison’s face. The victim provided cell phone video of the incident to the police. The defendant was arrested at the scene, but was later released from custody the same day.

The not in custody warrant charges Stanzler with misdemeanor Assault and Battery. The Detroit Police Department has informed WCPO that on Monday they will have updated information regarding the time and date of the arraignment in 36th District Court.
