SANDUSKY, MI – On Monday August 20th, 2018, at 5:50 P.M., Sanilac Central Dispatch received a call about a fight in progress in the parking lot of McDonald’s in Sandusky.
Sanilac County Sheriff’s Deputies responded and located a 1998 Chevrolet truck blocking part of the driveway. Three male subjects were in the front of the pickup truck and when Deputies arrived it appeared the subjects were trying to get the truck into park and the driver was having a medical issue.
Once Deputies started giving the driver medical attention it was determined by the driver’s actions and needles inside the vehicle that it was possibly a drug overdose. The other two subjects left the vehicle when Deputies arrived and tried to flee inside during the commotion and were brought back outside of the restaurant.
The investigation revealed through evidence from inside the vehicle, the suspect’s actions and statements that all three had used Heroin. A 53-year-old Flint man was arrested on scene and Narcan was used to revive him when he became unconscious inside of the patrol car. The subject was transported to McKenzie Hospital by Sanilac EMS until he was medically cleared and then was turned over to the Sanilac County Jail on multiple charges.
The Driver, a 49-year-old Flint man was placed under arrest for Operating While Intoxicated and transported by Deputies to McKenzie Hospital and then to the Sanilac County Jail.
The third suspect, a 55-year-old Flint man was also transported to McKenzie Hospital by Sanilac EMS and Deputies will later be requesting charges.
The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Sanilac County Drug Task Force and Sandusky PD.
