LONDON TOWNSHIP, MI – On Wednesday August 29th, 2018, at approximately 5:30pm, troopers from the Michigan State Police Monroe Post were dispatched to the intersection of Ostrander and Townsend roads for a two vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.Fatal Crash

From evidence at the scene and witness statements, the following events were determined: a 2001 Aprilla RSV motorcycle was westbound on Ostrander Road; the motorcyclist passed a school bus and collided with a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt that was turning into a private driveway.

The motorcyclist, identified as 28 year old Jacob Ramsey of Ypsilanti, was the lone occupant and suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. The driver of the Chevrolet Cobalt, a 77 year old woman from Maybee, was not injured.

At this time, neither alcohol nor drug use appear to be a factor in the crash. The crash is currently under investigation by the Michigan State Police Monroe Post and Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit.
