DETROIT, MI – Detroit Police are hoping that you can identify a suspect who committed his own version of a Smash and Grab.

The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection to a theft from a vehicle that occurred on the city’s westside.

On Sunday, August 12, 2018 at approximately 5:35 p.m., in the 18000 block of W. 8 Mile Rd, a 60 year old female victim entered the Mobile Gas station to make a purchase. While inside of the gas station a suspect driving a red ford focus approached her vehicle. The suspect then exited his vehicle, shattered the rear passenger window, and removed the victim’s purse before fleeing the location.

Later, the suspect drove to a nearby gas station and used the victim’s debit card to purchase gas and other items.

If anyone recognizes this suspect or knows of their whereabouts, they are asked to CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
