CHARLOTTE, MI – At 1:44 p.m. on Saturday September 14th, 2018, Eaton County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a double-fatal traffic crash at the intersection of W. Five Point Hwy and N. Bradley Rd. Also responding was Eaton Area EMS and the Charlotte Fire Department.
The crash is still under investigation, but initially it appears an older, brown sedan was westbound on W. Five Point Hwy and was struck by a newer, blue SUV which was traveling northbound on N. Bradley Rd and ran the stop sign. Both vehicles ended up in the yard of the residence to the northwest of the intersection. The older, brown sedan contained three people, two of which died at the scene.
The third passenger suffered major injuries and was flown by helicopter to a Lansing area hospital. The newer, blue vehicle contained only the driver who suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to a Lansing area hospital.
The intersection was shut down from the time of the accident until about 6:15 p.m. The ECSO Accident Team and Detective Bureau is investigating.
The names of the victims have not yet been released pending notification of family.
