Detroit Police asking for help to Locate Vehicle used in West side Shooting [Update]

UPDATE:  The vehicle and body of the 69-year old man was found in the area of Vancover and Military. Detroit Police are on scene.

DETROIT, MI – Detroit Police are asking for your assistance in locating a Brown, Honda CRV license plate DUL 3183 in connection with a shooting that took place on the city’s west side.Vehicle Suspect

On September 16, 2018 at approximately 4:17, in the 7300 block of Praire, the 59-year old known male suspect pulled up to a location in a brown 4-door, Honda, CRV that has rust on the passenger side front door and was occupied with a male occupant.

The suspect exited the vehicle and began arguing with a witness who was across the street. During the argument, the suspect produced a weapon and fired shots at the witness of which none took effect. According to the witness, the suspect returned to the vehicle and fired shots into the vehicle possibly striking the male occupant. After the shooting, the suspect entered the vehicle with the male occupant still inside and fled the location.

The suspect was taken into custody a short time later after returning to the location on foot, however, the location of the vehicle and possible male victim are unknown. A weapon was also recovered. Detroit Police needs assistance in locating the vehicle and possible injured victim, who is a black man, 69-years old, wearing a gray and white stripe shirt and black jeans.

The investigation is continuing.
