Twana McDonald is grateful and also very impressed with Detroit Police because they took heed to her notifying them that one of her twin daughters was near being sexually assaulted by someone that she has known for almost 25 years. She states that her 15-year-old daughter was nearly sexually assaulted by a 38-year-old man on Saturday September 15th, 2018 near 11:00PM.
McDonald was almost home when she got word that a problem was brewing in her home and that she needed to get there as quick as she could. Her twin daughters quietly sent their mother a message letting her know what was going on and to hurry home.
In the process of traveling home, Twana saw Detroit Police Officers at a gas station where they were in the middle of a traffic stop. This was near 6 Mile and Schaefer. She pulled into the gas station and informed the officers about the problem and that she needed assistance at her house immediately. McDonald also let the officers know that if they did not get there before she did that there would be an even bigger problem.
The officer immediately radioed central dispatch. Twana got in her car and pointed it towards home. When she arrived, to her surprise the police were already there. And the officers from the gas station followed her home as well. They told her that they followed her due to the fact that she was so upset and so angry that they were concerned for her safety and the safety of the alleged suspect.
The officers entered her home and arrested the suspect on the spot. The officers interviewed her daughters while they reassured them that everything was going to be alright.
Twana McDonald told MI Headlines that her daughters are OK but still shaken up by the events.
Twana wants all parents and guardians of minor children to pay attention to those who are in your life and the lives of your children. Because you could be the person who lets trouble in the front door and not even realize that your doing it.
