FRENCHTOWN TOWNSHIP, MI – Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone is reporting a single vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at approximately 6:30PM.
The crash occurred on North Dixie Highway, south of Fermi Drive, in Frenchtown Township.
Preliminary investigation reveals that a 43 year old Monroe, Michigan man was operating a black 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, southbound on North Dixie Highway. Upon entering a curve the motorcycle traveled off the west roadway shoulder and entered a ditch. The driver, who was not wearing a crash helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered serious injuries.
The victim was transported to Beaumont Trenton Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The victim’s name is being withheld, pending formal notification of family.
Members of the Frenchtown Township Fire Department and Monroe Community Ambulance assisted at the scene.
