MOUNT CLEMENS, MI – On September 21, 2018, the suspect in the case of a homeless man being assaulted outside of the Macomb County Court House, was arrested in the city of Mt. Clemens.
A 40-year-old man was taken into custody this afternoon by the U.S. Marshall Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team.
The suspect, like the victim, is currently homeless.
The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has authorized a two count warrant for the suspect; count 1 Assault with Intent to Murder (life felony) and count 2 Robbery –Unarmed (15 year felony).
After the assault, the suspect did take the victim’s backpack containing his personal property. The victim remains in critical condition. The suspect is expected to be arraigned on Monday, 9/24/18 in the 41-B District Court of Clinton Township.
