Sterling Heights Police Arrest Suspect who Fled Traffic Stop

STERLING HEIGHTS, MI – Sterling Heights Police arrested a man early this morning, Wednesday September 26th, 2018, after he fled from a traffic stop.

During the midnight shift an officer was canvassing subdivisions looking for a red Dodge Charger suspected of being involved with stealing rims & tires. Officer May observed a suspicious vehicle in a subdivision near 14 Mile Road and Dequindre Road. Upon further investigation, Officer May noted this suspicious vehicle was a red Dodge Charger.Anthony Leon Moton

When Officer May attempted to stop this vehicle, the driver fled and a car chase ensued. Backup officers arrived. Anthony Leon Moton was taken into custody.

At this time Anthony Moton is being held on Fleeing Police 4th Degree and Driving While License Suspended with a $1500 Bond.

The case remains under investigation.

Officer May and the rest of the midnight shift are being praised for taking the suspect off of Sterling Heights streets.
