HURON TOWNSHIP, MI – Veterinarian Martin P. McLaughlin, 62-years-old, of Huron Township has been charged in connection with the death of his three-year-old male Laborador Retreiver.
On July 5, 2018, it is alleged that McLaughlin went into his home located in the 30500 block of Sibley Road in Huron Township and left his dog inside his car overnight in extreme heat. The following morning it is alleged that McLaughlin discovered the lifeless dog inside his car. The death of the dog was investigated by the Huron Township Police Department and a warrant request was presented to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
McLaughlin has been charged with one count of Animals – Abandoning/Cruelty to One Animal Resulting in the Animals Death, a 1 year Misdemeanor and one count of Animals – Abandoning/Cruelty to One Animal, a 93 day Misdemeanor. The defendant is expected to turn himself in for arraignment on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in 34th District Court in Romulus
