Triple Shooting Leaves one Dead on Detroit’s West side [Updated]

DETROIT, MI – At approximately 2:00AM Sunday morning shots rang out in the 20000 block of James Couzens Freeway which is near 8 Mile and Greenfield roads.shooting investigation

Three people were struck by those bullets. One of the victims, a 27-year-old man,  was dead on scene. A second victim, a 24-year-old man, suffered one gunshot wound. He is in the hospital listed in critical condition. The third victim is a 21-year old woman who is listed in stable condition.

There are conflicting details as to what actually happened.  The first detail states that according to police the victims had just left a club and were riding in their vehicle headed downtown when they heard loud music coming from a Ford Fusion. The driver of that car rode up along side the victims car and fired several shots striking all three victims while they were in their vehicle.

The second account of the tragic incident states that four men had just left a night club in the city. While driving downtown, they heard loud music coming from a Ford Fusion.

The white Ford Fusion began riding alongside their car when several shots rang out. The victims, all black males between the ages of 21 and 27, were wounded – one fatally. Another person in the victim vehicle, a 29-year-old black male, told police that he jumped out of the car and ran when the incident occurred.

In the second accounting of what happened  it states that the two surviving victims are listed in critical condition. The victim who ran from the vehicle was not injured.

A third accounting was that a Chaldean had been shot and killed at a party store in the area.

What is consistent is that the gunman immediately fled the scene after the shooting.  Police are looking for a white Ford Fusion.
