MOUNT CLEMENS, MI – Dr. Steven Cogswell, of Waterford, a doctor contracted to the Macomb County Jail for
the care of inmates, was arraigned on six counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct after he allegedly had a series of sexual encounters with female inmates inside the jail.
Dr. Steven Cogswell worked inside the jail for Correct Care Solutions. He has since been fired and is now facing criminal sexual misconduct charges for his alleged encounters with 3 separate female inmates who filed complaints against him with the sheriff.
Cogswell’s cell phone was taken by police and they found a number of videos and pictures of what he was doing with the female inmates.
Dr. Steven Cogswell is a doctor based in Troy and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Beaumont Hospital-Troy and Genesys Regional Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. He specializes in Family Medicine.
